Jason is pursued by enemies and flees into the mountains, where Beatrice saves him. They become involved, and he vaguely remembers Beatrice with a mugwort pouch. Jason searches for Beatrice for seven years, unaware she has four sons. Seven years later, they reunite, and Beatrice again stands up for Jason. When Sarah appears, Jason mistakes her for Beatrice but remains drawn to Beatrice. Eventually, Jason uncovers the truth, and the lovers are united.
